- Your child likes numbers and ideas, and wants commerce without Basic Maths.
- Your child is drawn to economics, finance or business studies at degree level.
- Your child may try for CA later: ICAI asks for a Class 12 pass, in any stream.
It is not for a student who
- Your child wants Computer Science as a subject: that is CEBA.
- Your child wants the CA Foundation timetable the college pairs with MSBA. Ask admissions whether SEBA students can join those classes.

What is SEBA in PUC?
SEBA is a Karnataka PU commerce combination of Statistics, Economics, Business Studies and Accountancy, with English and a second language. The college describes it as a solid commerce foundation.
SEBA or CEBA: which should my child choose?
The difference is one subject. SEBA has Statistics, which suits a student who likes data and numbers. CEBA has Computer Science, which suits a student who likes computers. Economics, Business Studies and Accountancy are common to both.
Does SEBA have Maths?
No Basic Maths subject. Statistics is its numbers subject. A student who wants Basic Maths should look at MSBA.
Can a SEBA student become a CA?
Yes. ICAI asks for a Class 12 pass for the Foundation course and does not name a stream. Ask admissions whether our CA Foundation classes are open to SEBA students.
Does SEBA suit a student who is not strong in Maths?
Often, yes, because Maths is not a subject. Statistics still involves numbers, so talk to the subject teacher at the visit.
